The Alberto and Annette Giacometti Foundation co-owns the copyrights of the author Alberto Giacometti. Along with the other co-owners, the Foundation established the Giacometti Committee in April 2004.
Authentication process
On behalf of all Giacometti copyrights owners, the Giacometti Committee judges the authenticity of works submitted for its review (paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, decorative art objects). The Committee pronounces an opinion on these pieces and delivers certificates of authenticity. The Committee meets five times per year, but remains active year-round to track counterfeit works.
Bronze editions
All bronze editions from a plaster cast by the artist must be authorized by the Committee. All unauthorized casts are considered illegal.
Reproduction authorizations
On behalf of the members of ADAGP, the Giacometti Committee grants authorizations to reproduce images of Giacometti works. Requests must be addressed to ADAGP :
